GARY PLAYER’S FINEST DESIGN
When the world-famous Gary Player designed Blackmoor Golf Club prior to its 1990 opening,
even he couldn’t have seen how strong it would be midway through its third decade of operation.
“There’s a natural reward in being able to play a course once it’s built, but that is far outweighed by the satisfaction experienced when I see other people deriving enjoyment from something we’ve helped create.
I get a great kick out of knowing that hundreds of years after people have long forgotten me, the courses with which we have been involved will continue to give people tremendous pleasure!”
~ Gary Player
A CLASSIC “MUST-PLAY” OF MYRTLE BEACH GOLF BECKONS
Blackmoor Golf Club, located in Murrells Inlet, South Carolina has remained
one of the Grand Strand’s most player-friendly golf course rounds.
The design is one that stretches the imagination – almost begging for the untraditional at times.
That has been packaged with a playing surface that can only be described as upper-echelon.
It leaves those who set foot on this 18-hole masterpiece in awe of what they’ve just experienced.
Measuring at a maximum of 6,614 yards,
this is NOT a “grip-it-and-rip-it” style course
Then again, that’s not what Player had in mind
Doglegs are a part of nearly half of the holes, so early club selection could be the biggest influence
toward an impressive scorecard. With or without it, Blackmoor has proved it is no flash in the pan.

“Gary Player puts his finest touch on Blackmoor”
“If you come to myrtle beach, this course is off the beaten path but you would be well served to find in and give it a shot. Named after and designed by golf Legend Gary Play, there are a lot of shot that will fit your eye and some tricky looks that will have you going for it….If you have the time, may sure you play Blackmoor while in Myrtle Beach!” – Lou K via TripAdvisor.com
The most beautiful and interesting golf course that I have played on the Grand Strand to date. Friendly staff. Well maintained grounds. I you haven’t played this course before it helps to play with someone who has, because their are some blind holes where you might hit a good shot only to find yourself in trouble.
True to most Player courses there are plenty of blind shots, ridiculous doglegs and narrow fairways. The property is gorgeous, so it’s worth the price just for that. Just know what you are getting into and enjoy it.
Beautiful course which is well maintained. lots of challenges for all golfers. Fun dog legs left and right. We have handicaps in mid to low 20’s and loved the course. When we were there the course was full, but moved along very well. We were a four some and played in just over 4 hours. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Well worth the drive.
